Wetland4Change technical meeting in Sofia

From 21 to 22 of April the Wetland4Change team will be gathering once again in Sofia, Bulgaria ! 

This time, the meeting will bring together project partners, associated partners, policy makers, researchers and stakeholders involved in wetland management, climate change adaptation and water governance.
The first day of the meeting (21 st of April) will take place at the University of Forestry in Sofia and will focus on the presentation of project results and technical discussions related to the two Wetland4Change solutions:

• Carbon sequestration in wetlands and
• Flood regulation services of wetlands.

Special attention will be given to the Wetlands Knowledge Base tool, the Transfer Plan, as well as to the project’s contribution to the implementation of the EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), particularly the GAEC2 standard on the protection of wetlands and peatlands.
The second day (22nd of April) will be organized in the Struma Rvier Basin pilot area, where participants will visit key wetland sites to exchange experiences on wetlands-based solutions for climate change adaptation, flood mitigation and ecosystem restoration.

The event will facilitate knowledge exchange between scientists, practitioners and policy makers, while supporting the development of project transfer cases and policy recommendations for wetland conservation and restoration in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
